PhD. Prof. Tornike Shurgulaia is a distinguished figure in the realm of global security and intelligence, with a career that spans over a decade as a professor, author, researcher, public speaker, trainer, expert, and consultant. His extensive experience encompasses work with governmental and non-governmental organizations, political parties, and the academic sector. Prof. Shurgulaia's expertise is deeply rooted in Global Security, Intelligence and counterintelligence, U.S. foreign policy, and international relations (IR).
An alumnus of the U.S. Department of State's American Political Development program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Prof. Shurgulaia has completed US Studies Scholarship. US ODNI NCSC SSOC and US DCSA CI program completed. Prof. Shurgulaia's academic contributions are significant, having founded the Th. Jefferson Research Center and served as a Global Security Expert/Analyst at AMBITNA Polska. His role as a National Security matter Expert/Analyst at the Political Party LELO For Georgia and a security consultant for ICONIA Capital, LLC, an American real estate developer in Georgia, highlights his practical impact on security consulting. Additionally, his tenure as a researcher at the Sokhumi State University Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution Center showcases his commitment to academic excellence and practical application of knowledge.
His teaching career is equally impressive, with positions as a visiting lecturer and full professor at several Georgian universities, where he has taught courses on U.S. foreign policy, intelligence and national security, and U.S.- Georgian relations. Prof. Shurgulaia's mentorship through the EPAG - US Government Exchange Program Alumni Association of Georgia further exemplifies his dedication to nurturing the next generation of strategic studies professionals.
